I have been writing most of my life, but I have been a professional reviewer/critic for the past five years. I started out working for Enigma Magazine in Chattanooga, TN as music editor, and then I moved onto making a presence on the Web. After writing for a string of popular entertainment websites, I now am the senior writer for an American Idol site called Idol Mania. I also am the owner of the indie music online magazine, Gravy and Biscuits.
But I don’t just review music and episodes of American Idol. I like to review all sorts of stuff. If I go out to eat and have a particularly awful or wonderful experience, I like to write about it. I love to read, and book reports in school were one of my favorite things to do. I am also a girl who loves her gadgets. Give me something electronic, and I am a happy camper. Which is a totally lame saying, by the way, because nothing about camping makes me happy. But I digress.
About me personally and not professionally: I am a guy’s girl. I tend to get along better with boys than girls, simply because boys are easier to read and there’s not a lot of BS involved in hanging out with them. But I have learned that guys actually like to gossip more than women do. Weird. I also have learned that, though I have more male friends, my closest friends are female. You just have to weed out the good ones, I suppose. I like things that are depressing and things that are silly. I like my dogs, Sunday and Leo. I probably like you, because there aren’t many people I don’t. I like to dream, and I like to try to make those dreams come true. I love learning new things. I like to buy makeup and have tons of it, but I rarely ever wear it. I don’t like cantaloupe, shrimp, or root beer. I was once engaged, but I have never been married and do not have any children.
This blog is a smorgasbord of different things as I track my progress taking photos and editing, fall on and off the diet wagon, play with new toys, learn how to do new things, and figure out my life’s path.
